Studio Lorne

Spatial restraint and material honesty

We plan and resolve private residences and boutique commercial environments through architectural clarity, natural daylight, and disciplined material junctions.

Design Philosophy

Architecture over surface decoration

Every commission begins by mapping the path of solar daylight across bare structural planes. We develop generous room proportions and intuitive circulation axes before considering any singular finish.

Joinery, masonry, and patinated bronze fixtures are integrated directly into walls and structural thresholds. The outcome is a resolved space that supports domestic rituals with quiet permanence.

Completed Projects

Recent residential commissions

Manhattan

Tribeca Loft

A complete spatial reconfiguration of a cast-iron warehouse floor plate, executed with lime plaster, raw steel thresholds, and continuous wide-plank French oak flooring.

Connecticut

Litchfield Pavilion

A low-slung weekend residence oriented toward native woodland, balancing exposed structural board-formed concrete with tactile cedar cladding and bush-hammered granite hearths.

London

Kensington Villa

Restoration and contemporary spatial expansion of a four-storey heritage townhouse, pairing classical ceiling cornices with bespoke walnut millwork and Arabescato marble baths.

Permanent Values

Proportion and honest material junctions carry the room.

When architectural clarity and daylight govern the plan, an interior requires neither superficial ornament nor seasonal reinvention to remain completely resolved.
